History- Key Stage 4
GCSE History - Key Stage 4
Pupils studying History will undertake a thematic study of British medicine through time, which will include an in depth investigation into medical advances in the trenches during World War I. The modern depth study is Weimar and Nazi Germany (1918-1939), which considers the impact of World War I, the rise of the Nazis and life in Nazi Germany.
Pupils will then look at a period British study of the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, considering what life and government were like in the 1500s. Pupils will also look at an international period study of the Cold War, exploring the origins, developments and crises between east and west.
The course will allow pupils to further develop their historical skills through studying historical sources and interpretations, as well as being able to form their own judgements and conclusions.
